I began to admire my grandmother's tatting as a young child and the intricate lace doilies she would create...as well as the lovely hankies I'd find when I would secretly rummage through her dresser draws (shhh...don't tell;). This lead to my desire to recreate some of those beautiful patterns myself...although in pen & white ink.
Then because of my fondness for the crisp cotton aprons with lace insets...as well as the beautiful lace dresses and gowns I'd see in the department store windows...I began creating my own designs.
These lace pieces take many patient (but enjoyable and therapeutic!) hours to create...and have been referred to as "Lace Poetry" because of their graceful and meaningful lines...
The following 12x12" originals are but a sampling...and are completely hand-drawn using pen & ink and water color pencil on archival cardstock.

The originals are available for purchase and suitable for framing. Prints can be produced at larger or smaller sizes to suit. In time more lace originals will be added to this series. Please text/call for details. 612.224.1689
